How we rank jobs

For review by lawyer. This is a draft that describes what EaglesEntry does today. It is published so the structure and wording can be reviewed; it is not yet approved by counsel. Notes marked “For review by lawyer” show where counsel’s input decides the text.
For review by lawyer. Greece edition. The EU/EEA supplement applies: GDPR rights with a one-month reply, our EU representative’s contact, opt-in cookies, and the local data-protection authority as your complaint route. Read the country supplement
The main parameters that decide the order of jobs on EaglesEntry, and how you change them. Written for the EU Digital Services Act (Art 27), the French consumer code (L111-7) and the EU unfair-practices rules on ranking.
1. The lists
- All jobs: every live job on your edition, newest first, with the filters you set (country, posted date, job type, work model, pay listed, experience). Nothing is hidden by any ranking.
- Recommended: the same jobs ordered by how close a vector of your resume and preferences is to each posting. Only jobs that pass your filters appear; no job is removed from the board by this ordering.
- Best match sort: when you have match levels on, jobs with a higher AI-estimated fit come first, then the recommender’s similarity, then date.
- Saved and Applied: your own lists, by date.
2. The parameters, in order of weight
- Your filters (always first): a job outside them is never shown in that list.
- Similarity between your resume and preferences and the posting text (skills, roles, education, locations you listed).
- Match level, when on: an AI estimate from your resume and the posting, with experience, skills and education sub-scores.
- Posting date: newer first when everything else is equal.
- Not used: your name, age, sex, nationality, photo, school, address, or how often you apply. Not used: any payment by an employer. No employer can pay to rank higher in your Recommended list; a paid “Sponsored” label, if we ever add one, will be marked and never shown on fetched jobs.
For review by lawyer: confirm the DSA Art 27 wording for a small platform, the French L111-7 “referencing and ranking” page requirements, and the UK label (“Ad”, not “Sponsored”) before paid placement exists.
3. How to change it
Turn off recommendations or match levels in Settings › Data privacy › AI and automated decisions: the board then shows jobs newest first. Change your filters at any time. Members in Québec and Singapore start with the newest-first list until they turn personalisation on. You can ask how a match level was reached, or correct a fact behind it, from the same settings page.
